It is something that can be incredibly frustrating - tossing and turning, unable to sleep no matter how tired you feel. If insomnia has become a problem for you, there is something you can do about it, without taking addictive sleeping pills. Insomnia hypnosis is a safe and natural way to combat sleepless nights. In fact, hypnosis has been used to treat sleep disorders since the 1930's.
You may be suffering from insomnia if you have trouble falling asleep or trouble staying asleep. In fact, 10% of people have chronic insomnia, and it is estimated that nearly 50% of people have suffered bouts of insomnia at some point in their lives. That's why insomnia hypnosis is so popular.
Millions of people who suffer from sleep disorders sometimes find it difficult to turn off all the thoughts that are floating through their minds. They can spend half the night thinking about work or things that need to be accomplished the next day. Whether it be a difficult time falling asleep, or awakening in the middle of the night and then being unable to get back to sleep, experiencing generally one or two hypnosis sessions can bring you back to a normal sleeping pattern.
Hypnosis can help reprogram your mind and facilitate behavioral change.

Hypnosis is a state of relaxation bordering on sleep. Learning to relax the body and mind within a trance state can on its own teach you how to put yourself in a relaxed state of mind in which sleep comes easily. In the hypnotic state that borders on natural sleep, we can often help clients locate the subconscious emotional and mental blocks that are preventing you from a restful sleep.
100 percent of insomnia patients reported improved sleep and 91 percent either eliminated or reduced sleeping medication use,
Reported in The American Journal of Medicine, Volume 100, pages 212-216, 1996
Chances are something in your past is to blame. However, it's not uncommon for the subconscious mind to blow things out of proportion, so you may not even remember the past event that has led to your difficulty sleeping!
There may be a deep-rooted fear or memory that is preventing you from sleeping - like terrible nightmares you had as a child that you do not even remember now. But, your subconscious remembers all of them, and it refuses to let you sleep for fear that those nightmares will come back.
During a New York Hypnosis restful sleep hypnosis session, you can identify the event from your past that has been blown out of proportion. Your hypnotist can then reframe the way your subconscious mind perceives that event, allowing the anxiety to be released. Essentially your hypnotist will teach your subconscious mind that those negative experiences from your past no longer need to impact you negatively.
By getting to the root cause of the problem during sleep hypnosis, you can change the way your mind thinks about sleeping. If you suffered from terrible nightmares as a child, we can work with you - to tell your subconscious that the nightmares were not real, and that you are perfectly safe when you fall asleep. By changing your perceptions, you can finally get a good night's sleep.
For people who cannot sleep because they feel restless all of the time, insomnia hypnosis can be used to get rid of all the "mind chatter" that is keeping you awake. We can teach you to expect pleasant dreams, so that you fall asleep feeling relaxed instead of stressed out. We can also train your subconscious to adopt a new routine before bedtime. By training your subconscious to prepare for sleep, you can get the rest you need, instead of tossing and turning.
Another technique we can use during a New York Hypnosis Institute sleep disorder hypnosis session is to have you relive positive memories that involve sleep - like a great night's sleep you had during a vacation at the beach. We can suggest that you remember how great you felt when you woke up, and how refreshed you were for the rest of the day. By associating sleep with positive experiences, your subconscious will learn to embrace sleep instead of rejecting it.
Restful Sleep hypnosis helps replace the negative subconscious thoughts which lead to stress and anxiety with more pleasant and positive subconscious thoughts and feelings. The NY Hypnosis Institute specializes in helping clients overcome insomnia.
Hypnosis is a natural state, that when achieved, allows your hypnotist to access your subconscious mind. When you watch a movie, read a book, or focus on a project at work and lose track of time, you are experiencing hypnosis. Once a client is guided into hypnosis, we at the NY Hypnosis Institute can then give positive suggestions directly to the subconscious mind.
We will identify the feelings and triggers you experience so that the suggestions given to your subconscious mind will be catered to your specific challenge. With the combination of regression and suggestions your insomnia can be eliminated in just a few sessions.
A New York Hypnosis Institute Overcome Sleep Disorders Hypnosis session can retrain your mind to:
•Identify and Overcome the Emotional and Mental Blocks that Hinder Normal Sleep Patterns
Reduce Stress
Look Forward to Winding Down Prior to Sleep
The first session consists of an intake and hypnosis to address the insomnia. The intake portion involves answering any questions the client might have, and discussing the exact nature of the problem. While in hypnosis, the client will receive suggestions that will assist in promoting accelerated change. The client will also receive a recording of a hypnosis session to listen to for reinforcement, which can be downloaded onto a computer or an iPod.
The number of sessions needed, will vary, but on average 1-2 sessions will suffice. We at The NY Hypnosis Institute will support you as needed.
